Working Creatively – A Therapist’s Guide!

About the Course

This is a 3-hour online training designed for counsellors and trainees  who want to start incorporating creativity into their practice.

What to Expect

The session includes a mix of presentations, interactive discussions via Zoom chat, small group work, and personal experimentation. You’ll receive a list of materials in advance so you can be fully prepared.

This course is unique in that I share examples from my own personal creative therapy journey so you can really grasp the concept of this way of working.

Currently offering this to organisations to hire me in.

If you’d like to get a feel for my approach, you can check out my YouTube channel where I show you my creative process and there’s a short on there about the training.

Parent Carer Trauma – An Introduction for Parents and Professionals

When: Tuesday 25th March 2025, 19:00 - 20:00 GMT (online)

Parents of children with special educational needs (SEN) often face immense challenges—not necessarily in caring for their child but often just advocating for them. Many parents experience trauma as they navigate a system that resists, denies, and even punishes their efforts to secure support.

About the Course

This one-hour online training is designed to shed light on the often-overlooked reality of parent carer trauma. Through personal storytelling and professional insight, we will explore how parents can feel unheard, dismissed, and even abused while fighting for their child’s needs. Parents will gain validation and awareness, while professionals will be challenged to reflect on how the system can contribute to this trauma—and what they can do to reduce harm, repair trust, and create change.

THE COUNSELLING ACADEMY

CPD's & Live Training for Counsellors, Psychotherapists & Psychologists

'Once we have been born the only certain thing in life is that we will die'

We will all be affected by the death of someone close to us at some point in our life. Surprisingly very few counselling training courses cover Bereavement & Loss Awareness as part as their foundational training.

This course looks to rectify that by mixing great bereavement theory with  words from our bereavement role models, alongside practical ways to implement this new learning in to your therapy practice.

Whether you work exclusively with grieving clients or work with a whole range of issues you will find this course full of information with resources to help not just your grieving clients but other clients as well.

Nicola has a unique way of explaining theory using a combination of real-life stories and practical examples. So you will you go away better informed and you will learn how to implement your new learning into your work straight away.

Whether you have been qualified for years or brand new to this work you will find a great mix of information and resources.
